Working for the Weekend
I wrote this song about a man who hates to work. It's about the things
he does every morning just to get through the day. He can't wait for the weekend when he can do whatever he wishes to do,
beause people on the weekends don't bother him. Can you relate?
Pretty Baby
When I wrote this song it had a Hip Hop beat. I can still hear the Hip Hop
version in my head. Unfortunately, I don't play Hip Hop. After about two months, this melody came to me. I had absolutely
no idea why I wrote this song. I liked the guitar in it, then the melody came and pretty soon I had this song. Funny how it
works out sometimes!
Our Life
This song is about the 30+ years with my spouse and how lucky I am to have
a great relationship with her!
For the Love of My Daughter
I wrote this song for a very special friend, as he prepared to give his daughter
away at her wedding. The song is about the father remembering his daughter as she grows up and how his love for her will never
change.
Loving Arms
OK, I' a romantic. I like a love song. It is easy to write love songs when
the person you love provides great inspiration.
My Childhood Memories
I am remembering the fun times we had growing up and how important those
memories become as we grow older. It reminds us that we all were young once!
A Thousand Times
Hmm, young love. A person is torn between the love he wants, and the uncertainty
as to whether or not this is the right person for him. It is a dark song with a happy ending.
I Never Thought I'd Love Like This
Another of my love songs!. I never thought it would be considered special
by others. A friend chose it as one of her wedding songs. I was honored and very humbled. It is a simple song of love!
Friends
We struggled with the emotion of leaving good friends behind as we moved
from North Dakota to Florida. Although there were miles between us, friends are always a part of who
we are. We still miss them. Here's a song of love to all the friendships we have made.
I'm So Glad You're My Dad
This is the first song I wrote. My father had Alzheimer’ss and I knew he wouldn't be with us very long. I wanted to let him know he was a good father and that I loved him. I
thought this song would be sung at his funeral. I played it for friends who encouraged me to record it. It
is also the first song I recorded. It was recorded live with my friend, Gary Hartge on lead guitar. I was so glad that I was
able to give the CD to my Dad on his birthday. He knew my voice, and I believe he understood the words.
Irony
This is a little tongue-in-cheek tribute to Irony. I wrote this when we lived
in Florida. Things kept happening and we would all say, "well, that's Irony" and laugh. So I wrote a song about
"Irony."
